AUGUST 2010:
Hey all! It has been one hell of a year so far. The Vancouver Olympics, The Junos in St. John's, European tour, a cross Canada tour, a US tour down to Texas, SXSW in Austin, and a festival summer schedule that put over 14,000 kms on the ol' Econoline from Ontario to BC and back.
The band is almost a year in and tighter than ever. We have played 11 festivals and have one more this fall to round it off to an even 12 this season.

THE BAND!
The sound of the band has transformed into a once young gal wanna-be rocker's dream. I used to lip sync Joan Jett in the mirror and dance around my bedroom to The Rolling Stones when I was a pre-teen and nowadays I feel like we've come closer to that rockin show than I ever dreamed I could be part of. Jason Nowicki's leads are incomparable. He is a slayin demon and his heart and soul is poured into every note. A true bad ass. You have to see it to believe it. Dave Landreth on bass and Ryan Voth on drums are the tightest rhythm section I have ever had the luxury of playing with. They lay it down fat and hard and support the song with no egos and no bullshit, takin no prisoners. It's the cat's ass. Having a solid band like that behind a gal can really push her to her maximum. I feel like my writing and my playing is at its best yet.
It truly feels like we're on our game and no one can stop us.

FALL EAST COAST TOUR!
At the end of September, we head all the way to the East. Finally back to St. John's, Newfoundland where weI left a big part of our travel and rock and roll hearts last time we were there for the Junos. I can't wait to get back and play a double nighter at The Ship. After Eastern Canada, Jason and I let the rhythm section off the hook for some touring and we head into New York and Northeast US to dole out our hard core electric duo show.

LIVE ALBUM RECORDING!
We are happy to announce the next Romi Mayes Band album will be coming out May 2011. We are going to record a live album January 14th, 2011 at The West End Cultural Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba with the help of the great Scott Franchuk as producer. Scott is better known for his touring as sound man for Corb Lund but I have known him over the years to record some of the best albums to ever come out of Alberta in the last decade. He is a righteous dude and we are excited to work with him. The album will be in the fashion of Neil Young's Time Fades Away. All new songs. All rockin. All live.
I have a little more writing and rehearsing to do this winter to finish the album, but to say we're stoked for a new album would be a major understatament.

Stay tuned for more updates as the fall and winter go on. Endless thanks for all the support all the way through. What a ride.

"Looking forward, all that I can see,
Is good things happening to you and to me.
I'm not waiting for times to change.
I'm going to live, like a free-roamin' soul,
On the highway of our love"
- Neil Young, Looking Forward
