After living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia for five years, Romi had mastered the art of the small town country song. With an ongoing apprenticeship at The Woodshop Recording Studio under chief engineer Zak Cohen, it was only proper to do some sessions there of her own before moving back to her home town of Winnipeg, Manitoba in 2002. Old friend and Winnipeg musician Rob Wrigley was called up from Victoria, BC (where he was living at the time) to accompany Romi on mandolin and banjo. With only a day or two to learn her repertoire, Wrigley nailed it and their sessions became what is recorded here. With assistant production by Norlyn Maslak and upright bowing by Victoria's Dinah D., On The Road became a sweet little gem made on the beautiful acreage of The Woodshop Studio in Duncan, BC.
